Film Florida returns to the Toronto International Film Festival September 7 – 17, 2023. The 48th edition of TIFF includes 11 days of international and Canadian cinema, special events featuring some of the biggest names in film, and TIFF’s Industry Conference, offering diverse and innovative perspectives on the art and business of film. The Toronto International Film Festival has become one of the most beloved cinematic events in the world, universally regarded as an ideal platform for filmmakers to launch their careers and to premiere their new work. The Festival has been described as “the most important film festival in the world – the largest, the most influential, the most inclusive.” TIFF continues to grow both as a major festival for Hollywood award films, independent film and international productions, as well as establishing a strong film market tie in with many international buyers and sellers. TIFF also hosted the premiere of the Academy Award Winner for Best Picture, Moonlight, in 2016 (right).

The organization is extremely active in promoting and participating in many member film festivals in Florida. Film Florida also offers numerous financial grants and scholarships for industry professionals and students. At the same time, it’s extremely important that our members, and non-members, have the opportunity to travel outside Florida to promote the state to worldwide content creators. These networking opportunities are vital for local film commissioners and industry professionals to meet and connect with potential partners and clients.
