A special thanks to all of those who attended the recent Film Florida Quarterly Meetings in Orlando! It was a pleasure to meet new members and collaborate on creative initiatives for our ongoing efforts on behalf of Florida’s film, television and digital media industry. Our itinerary started off with the lively, well-attended Jingle Mingle industry event hosted by Women in Film & Television – Florida at the Quantum Leap Winery. The following day consisted of a series of engaging committee and council meetings. Of particular note, the Strategic Futures Committee held an invigorating conversation about emerging technologies focused in virtual reality that will lead our professionals into new frontiers of the entertainment industry. All of this lead up to the Board of Directors meeting, all of which was hosted by the Orlando Film Commission at the amazing Grand Bohemian Hotel.
Film Florida is fully geared up and ready for the start of Florida’s legislative session, which officially convenes on January 12, 2016. Our Legislative and Marketing & Communications Committees have collaborated to produce an outstanding Legislative Toolkit, printed in a magazine format consisting of 48-full color pages of informative industry facts, figures, comparisons to other state programs and national media coverage examples. A copy of this magazine was provided to the attendees at Quarterly Meeting and will be handed to each legislator during our visit to Tallahassee on Tourism Day, January 20, 2016. If you were unable to join us, we encourage you to check out our digital version via our website by clicking HERE.
For those who attended the meetings, we hope that your visit with us was informative and productive. We look forward to seeing you again at future events, tradeshows and meetings across the state! For those who are unable to travel, we encourage you to call in to the meetings via our conference call lines. Next up, Film Florida will be attending NATPE in Miami from January 18-21st and Florida Tourism Day in Tallahassee on January 20th. If you are interested in attending either event, please email info@filmflorida.org for more information.
On behalf of the Film Florida Board of Directors we wish you and yours a Joyful Holiday and Happy New Year.
